Trip to India – South Bombay

Today I visited the markets in South Bombay, including Chor Bazaar; one of the largest flea markets in India.  It was probably my favourite day of photographing so far as there were so many different things going on around me, and I didn’t have to photograph it from the inside of a fast moving car!

Most of my photos seem to focus on the locals going about their daily business.  I didn’t realise my love of photographing people in such a way until I visited India, as my normal work is studio or sport related.  There was also time for a quick visit to Dhobi Ghat; India’s biggest human laundry, washing thousands of clothes daily!

Trip to India – Elephanta Island

Today I went sight seeing in South Bombay; catching the boat across to Elephanta Island.  I caught the little rickety train round to the entrance, and began my ascent up the many many steps to the top, where the view was stunning.  The Caves were impressive and the locals charged us double when purchasing drinks!  There were hundreds of monkeys and dogs roaming around, and people asking for money when I took their photo.  But overall it was a great day!
