Pre-Olympic training with Team Nigeria and Team Tanzania Boxers
Before their journey down to London for the 2012 Olympic Games, Boxers from Team Nigeria and Team Tanzania were located in Bradford for around 6 weeks prior to the Games. The brand-new facilities of the Bradford Police and College Boxing Academy; located at Bradford College, were used as their base and training ground in the lead-up to the Games. I joined them for a few of their training sessions, photos are below.

Leeds Athletes return home from the London 2012 Paralympic Games
Earlier today I went along to meet the Athletes from Leeds, on their return from the London 2012 Paralympic Games. It was a great reception for them as hundreds of people gathered in Millennium Square in Leeds to welcome their heroes home. Athletes present today were:
“Hurricane Hannah” Cockroft – T34 100m and 200m Wheelchair Sprints – Double Gold medalist.
David Stone MBE – Gold and Bronze medalist in the Cycling Mixed T1-2 Road Race.
Claire Cashmore – Silver medalist in the Women’s SB8 100m Breaststroke and 4x100m Medley relay team. Bronze medalist in the Women’s 4x100m Freestyle relay.
Ali Jawad – 4th place in the Men’s 56kg Powerlifting
It was a great welcome home for the returning Athletes, and all have done both Leeds and GB proud!
