Little Germany is a very historical area of Bradford.  The buildings date back to the 19th century, and were used mainly as Mills and Warehouses.  The main habitants were from Germany, and this is where the name Little Germany came from.

Today, Little Germany is still one of Bradford’s busiest commercial areas.  The local authority are planning to regenerate the area, with some building works already completed, including the £22 million pound construction – The Gatehaus.  It was supposed to be a 17 storey landmark, but had to be changed regarding its height to fit in with the surrounding Victorian Buildings.
